When Auckland Said “Rain!”, Downer Said “Let’s Race!”

Our recent Auckland Amazing Race with Downer delivered everything we love about outdoor team building. It had energy, teamwork, competition, and of course, that classic Auckland rain. The skies opened the moment the race began, yet the teams kept pushing forward with huge smiles.

From the first clue, everyone raced into the city ready for action. The rain grew heavier, but the Downer crew embraced it. They laughed, supported each other, and turned every soaked moment into a shared memory. It created the perfect atmosphere for a powerful team building afternoon.

Challenges That Sparked Big Energy

We rolled out some of our favourite corporate team building challenges, and the wet weather only made them funnier.

• Slingshots sent balls flying across the park while teammates cheered loudly.

• Pipelines tested teamwork as slippery pieces added an extra twist.

• Minefield pushed communication and trust on very wet ground.

• Spices brought bold guesses and plenty of spicy reactions.

Each challenge created laughter, friendly rivalry, and great team bonding moments. The Downer teams stayed upbeat and competitive, even while dripping from head to toe.

A Tough Crew Who Didn’t Quit

The rain tried to slow everyone down, but Downer refused to stop. They pushed through the city with determination and humour. Their teamwork grew stronger with every wet clue they solved. This resilience is exactly why we love hosting team building in Auckland.

And yes… the weather reminded us that indoor team building can sometimes be a clever idea too. But honestly, the rain made this race legendary.
