Suits, Sand & Slingshots: A Geelong Amazing Race to Remember

Who says a corporate retreat has to be all boardrooms and name tags? Not this crew.

We recently took 68 legends (yes, legends) across 14 teams on a Geelong Amazing Race, and from the very first clue… it was game on.

From Strategy to Shenanigans

Fresh off their corporate retreat sessions, teams swapped laptops for running shoes and hit the streets (and sand) of Geelong. Armed with their race packs and a healthy dose of competitive spirit, they set off on a fun corporate team building event that had everything, speed, strategy, and just a little bit of chaos.

And honestly… we wouldn’t have it any other way.

Beach Battles & Bullseyes

Geelong turned it on as the ultimate playground.

Down along the waterfront, teams took on a surprisingly tricky bucket catch challenge on the beach, which quickly turned into equal parts skill and comedy. Think missed throws, dramatic dives, and plenty of “we definitely meant to do that” moments.

Then it was time to channel their inner warriors with slingshot challenges, where accuracy was key… but enthusiasm definitely outweighed precision for some teams. Let’s just say, not every shot went where it was supposed to 

Statues, Selfies & Serious Creativity

Of course, it wouldn’t be a Geelong adventure without the iconic waterfront.

Teams tackled a series of photo challenges around the famous Geelong Beach statues, bringing out some seriously creative (and slightly questionable) poses. From recreating scenes to inventing their own stories, this was where personalities really shone.

Safe to say, there were some future influencers in the making.

The Hunt for Wally (…Who Wouldn’t Stay Still)

Just when teams thought they had the race figured out, we sent them into Westfield Geelong on a mission to find Wally.

Simple, right?

Wrong.

Wally had other plans.

Dodging teams, doubling back through shops, and generally causing mayhem, Wally turned this checkpoint into an absolute highlight. There were near misses, full jogs through the centre, and a few very suspicious “Is that her?!” moments.

Spoiler: he was never where you expected him to be.

Why This Geelong Amazing Race Worked

This wasn’t just another team building activity, it was a full-scale experience.

It blended the best parts of a corporate retreat with high-energy challenges, giving teams the chance to connect, laugh, and work together in a completely different way. No awkward icebreakers, No forced fun, Just genuine moments, shared wins, and plenty of laughs along the way.

And with Geelong’s waterfront, beaches, and city spaces as the backdrop… it really doesn’t get much better.
