From Birthday Boy to Race Legend: Dante’s Adelaide Showdown

When Dante’s mum reached out, she didn’t want a standard 18th birthday. Instead, she wanted something fun, active, and genuinely memorable. So, we turned the streets of Adelaide into a fully customised Amazing Race team building event, designed just for Dante and his crew.

Straight Into Race Mode

Right from the start, the energy was high. Dante and his 9 mates split into teams of two, cracked open their first envelopes, and got moving.

Some teams slowed things down, read the clues carefully, and mapped out their route. Meanwhile, others took off immediately, backing themselves to figure it out on the fly. As the race unfolded, the mix of strategies created exactly what you want in a great team bonding activity — competition, laughs, and a bit of chaos.

As teams moved through the city, they had to make quick decisions, communicate clearly, and stay one step ahead. Every checkpoint added pressure, and every clue pushed them deeper into the race.

AFL Clues That Changed the Game

Because Dante is a huge fan of the Port Adelaide Football Club, we built one of the key challenges around AFL.

Teams searched for hidden footballs placed across the course. As they found each one, they started piecing together a code hidden on the back. However, finding the balls was only half the challenge. To move forward, teams had to work together, line up the clues correctly, and crack the code.

Some teams solved it quickly and gained momentum. Others second-guessed themselves, lost time, and felt the pressure build. Either way, it became a turning point in the race.

A Twist Only Dante Would Appreciate

To keep things interesting, we added another personalised layer. Throughout the race, teams collected caricatures of Dante at different checkpoints.

At first, it felt like a fun side task. However, once teams reached the final Pit Stop, everything clicked. They had to work together to place the caricatures in the correct order.

After two hours of running, clue solving, and navigating the city, this final challenge tested focus, communication, and teamwork under pressure. Some teams approached it calmly and worked methodically. Others rushed… and paid for it.

High Energy From Start to Finish

From start to finish, the event delivered everything you want from an outdoor team building activity. Teams sprinted between checkpoints, celebrated small wins, and constantly reassessed their strategy.

Along the way, there were moments of brilliance, a few wrong turns, and plenty of laughs. As teams crossed the finish line, the energy didn’t drop. Instead, it shifted into storytelling, with everyone reliving their best moments and near misses.

In the end, one team took the win, and another claimed last place (and the wooden spoon). More importantly, every single person walked away buzzing.
