When Auror Limited said they were obsessed with The Amazing Race, we knew this wasn’t going to be your standard Auckland Amazing Race. It needed to feel like the real thing, so we leaned right into it. From the structure to the pacing, everything was designed to mirror the show, fast, strategic, and just unpredictable enough to keep teams on their toes.
This wasn’t just another round of fun corporate team building. Instead, it became a full-scale, TV-inspired experience where every decision mattered and every clue had the potential to send teams in completely different directions. Naturally, that led to a bit of chaos, a lot of second guessing, and some very competitive energy across the board.
Designed for a Superfan
Because the organiser was such a big fan, we built the race with all the key elements you would expect. Roadblocks put individuals under pressure, detour legs forced teams to make real strategic calls, and the clue envelopes kept everyone thinking, or overthinking, their next move.

24 Teams Took on Auckland
With 24 teams racing through Auckland, the atmosphere was electric from the very first clue. Teams spread out across the city, navigating checkpoints, solving challenges, and trying to stay one step ahead of the competition.
As the race unfolded, alliances started to form, strategies shifted, and a few teams quickly realised they may have taken the “fun” option instead of the “fast” one. That is where things got interesting.
Challenges That Tested More Than Speed
Each checkpoint brought a completely different type of challenge, so teams had to constantly adapt. Some leaned into their strengths, while others found themselves scrambling to keep up.
There were slingshot challenges that required focus and precision, bucket catch tasks that relied heavily on communication, and marshmallow towers that looked simple until the pressure kicked in. Then came the spice challenge, which definitely separated the brave from the slightly more cautious.
At the same time, we layered in creative elements to keep things fresh. At selected checkpoints, teams took on photo challenges, using AI to transform themselves into real life superheroes. Some teams went all in, fully committing to the concept, while others delivered results that were memorable for entirely different reasons. Either way, it added a fun, unexpected twist that had everyone laughing.
The Final Dash to the Pit Stop
After navigating detours, surviving roadblocks, and making a few questionable decisions along the way, it all came down to the final push. The race to the pit stop, a buzzing pub, brought out one last burst of energy as teams sprinted to the finish.
Some arrived victorious, others rolled in moments later, but every team crossed the line with stories to tell. There were plenty of “we should have chosen the other detour” reflections, along with a few teams already planning how they would do it differently next time.
